International Orientation Week

For many of you this is the start of your time in Sheffield as today is the first day of International Orientation week.
I am sure that you are feeling a mixture of nervous, excited, apprehensive, tired and a lot more!
I hope that you will enjoy all the activities this week and cope well with all the new things you’ll encounter, including the Sheffield weather!
I particularly want to welcome you to the Careers Service and myself and a colleague will be meeting you on Friday morning as part of your scheduled Orientation programme in the Student Auditorium. Afterwards we be having an Open Day at the Careers Service and we hope you’ll come over and meet our staff and pick up useful resources. There will be soft drinks, biscuits and chance to win a prize on offer as well!
It is a chance to find out how the Careers Service can help you:-
• maximize your time at Sheffield so that you have plenty to offer employers
• look for a part-time job and work experience
• make early applications for graduate employment.
Looking forward to seeing you on Friday.
