If so, then you might be suitable to apply
for the ‘Chinese Student Project Worker’ placement being advertised as part of
the On CampUS Placements scheme.
On
CampUS Placements is a newly launched scheme offering 100 hour placement
opportunities (paying £7.29 an hour) within academic and professional departments in the university.
International Student Support are offering
a placement specifically aimed at those who are fluent in Mandarin Chinese and
one or more dialects, to develop communication with Chinese students via Weibo
and the use of video. The placement also involves providing advice to
International Student Support about the social, cultural and academic
expectations of Chinese students and how these can be met, as well as some
translation and subtitling work.
