Careers Service support- don’t miss out!

As we come to the end of what feels like the busiest week ever for the Careers Service (with our 2 big Careers Fairs)! And since it is several weeks since the start of the semester, I thought it might be worth having a recap about the range of support you can access at the Careers Service. Our aim is to provide information, advice and guidance to help you achieve your career goals.

As an international student you can obviously access all the general services we provide for all students.
These include:-
·         -An extensive website with lots of useful information including on-line talks, example CVs, downloadable leaflets etc. http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/careers
·         -The Student Jobshop for those looking for part-time jobs or Internships
·        - A programme of graduate employer presentations and Careers Fairs with hundreds of major companies coming on campus every year
·         -A vacancies database with thousands of vacancies
·        - A programme of careers talks and workshops
·         -Skill development programmes such as ‘Taste of Work’, ‘Sheffield Graduate Award’ etc.
·         -Individual careers guidance and help with CVs and application forms
·         -And lots more!

In addition there are services specifically for International students.
These include:-
·        - A section of the website for international students with information and videos
·         -A programme of talks and workshops just for international students and ‘tailored’ to your needs. These include the ever popular CV/Applications and Interviews workshops.

So please make sure that you are taking advantage of all we have to offer while you are a student.  Select from all the options what suits you best  .........have a look at the website; book onto a talk; pick up a booklet from our Careers Centre; schedule a meeting with a Careers Adviser............................... we don't want you to miss out!
