Events for Chinese students next week

There are several Careers events next week that are of interest to Chinese students:-

1.Careers Seminar for Chinese Students
I will be running a session next week with staff from an external organisation called ‘Beyond Career Consulting’ which specialises in working with Chinese students studying in the UK. I will be talking about looking for and applying for jobs in the UK, and ‘Beyond Career Consulting’ will talk about job search and career opportunities in China. Should be a good session – don’t miss it! It is on Wednesday 15th February 2.00pm-4.00pm in Hicks Lecture Theatre 7. To book a place, go to the Careers Service ‘What’s On Diary’ at http://www.shef.ac.uk/careers/students/events

2.Mandarin Consulting
On the same day in the evening an organization called Mandarin Consultant will be giving a presentation at 6.00pm-8.00pm in Hicks Lecture Theatre 1.They say that “the seminar is aimed at Chinese students and graduates who want to gain internship work experience or start their career successfully in the UK, internationally and in China. We are a leading London based consultancy firm helping Chinese students and graduates to gain UK based work experience. We have in-depth understanding of the international, UK and Chinese job markets, we also work with many multinational international companies who actively recruit bilingual Chinese. For further information, please visit our website” http://career.mandarinconsultant.com/ To book a place, go to the Careers Service ‘What’s On Diary’ at http://www.shef.ac.uk/careers/students/events

3.CV Workshops specifically for International Students
Also there are still a few places left on next week’s CV/Applications Workshop that I’ll be running together with staff from the English Language Teaching Centre. (Please note this workshop is for all international students, not just those from China). It is in 2-parts on Thursday 16th February 2-5pm and Thursday 23rd February pm. The first week is a workshop and the second week is where you have your CV individually reviewed by staff from the Careers Service and the ELTC. So you have to be able to attend both sessions. These sessions are relevant to undergraduates and taught post graduates and will help with CVs, Covering letters and Applications for part-time jobs, work experience or graduate vacancies. To book a place, come into the Careers Service with £10 to leave as a deposit (this will be refunded at the workshops).
