The month of November, and particularly next week, is a very
important time in the careers calendar.
On Tuesday 4th of November it is the Engineering and Technology
Fair and on Wednesday 5th it is the Business, Finance and Languages
Fair. Then a bit later, on Wednesday the 19th, it is the Law Fair.
There will be a huge range of employers available for you to
talk to.
But a lot of students don’t get as much out of the Fairs as
they could. They can find it all a bit overwhelming and come away with some
nice freebies but haven’t really gained anything useful!
The secret is preparation. So we have put on 2 sessions this
week specifically for international students, that will help you prepare.
They are:-
-CVs and Applications - Wednesday 29th October
1-2pm
-How to Prepare for the Careers Fairs – Thursday 30th
October 1-2pm.
So come along and find out how to have a put together a
quality CV, which will useful generally, but you can also take copies of your
CV along to the Fair and leave them with employers that you have talked to.
The second session will aim to give you an understanding of
how UK Careers Fairs work and how to ensure that you get the most out of them.
Don’t miss these 2 useful sessions.
